Cutting Mirror with the Morton System

For our next class session, we will be cutting thick glass mirror for the edges of our mosaic substrate and to emphasize design lines of our mosaic.
The following video shows how to use the cutting tools at the cutting station.
We will be taking turns cutting and parent volunteers will help us if we need more pressure to score the glass to break properly.
NOTICE:
I only score the glass ONE TIME IN ONE SPOT. Don't run the glass cutter back and forth in the same spot. It won't help it break easier and will damage the cutter head more quickly.
-Make sure the screw is up on the running pliers (which run the score to break the glass). Line the line on the tool up with the score line, hold the pliers back as far as you can and then give a firm but gentle squeeze to break the glass.
