Hops - How to Pick, Harvest, Dry & Store Hops at Home

If you have grown your own hop, then unless you are going to use them straightaway to make a “green beer”, then you are going to need to know how to pick, dry, package and store them.
So in our short video here, will show you some tried and tested ways to easily pick and dry your hops at home.
I planted this cascade hop four years ago and each year it has produced more and more hops .  This year we harvested 6.5 kg of hops. Now we have dried them, they weigh just 1.3 kg.
These cascade hops have amazing aromas of orange, grapefruit and pine. They also have quite a strong bettering effect, so you only need to use a small amount for a bittering, but are great for dry hopping to make an amazing aromatic beer.
We have packaged these hops in 100g bags, which we have then flushed with carbon dioxide, vacuum sealed and then frozen to keep them as fresh as possible.
