Today I clean and condition an old pair of Red Wing Boots, and prepare a new pair of Thorogoods for the winter. There's a difference in approach when you wear boots instead of tennis shoes, a kind of perseverance you have to have, but there is a marked benefit. Having a shoe that wears out and then gets thrown away vs having a boot that can be worn, used, repaired, and reused is a better way in my opinion.
