In this video, we’ll recap the power supply. Recapping simply means replacing the old capacitors. Often, recapping is seen as the be-all and end-all solution to fixing any vintage audio ailment. And, as a consequence, capacitors are often replaced for no good reason. In the case of antique power supply electrolytic capacitors, though, it really is a no-brainer to just replace them. They’re a common failure point and are usually responsible for the annoying hum you often hear in old equipment.
