The Gospels tell four different stories about the baptism of Jesus

Episode 21: The Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John all begin the story of Jesus’s ministry with the framework created by Mark, which involves John the Baptizer, a quotation of Isaiah 40, and the calling of the first disciples. The differences between the four Gospels, however, demonstrate theological diversity as well as disagreement about the identity and mission of John and Jesus.
