As I drove downhill, the afterglow chased my wheels: metasequoia forests glowed warm, even grass blades sparkled in the light. The wind carried pine scent mixed with sunset warmth, and every casual snap felt like a movie frame.
The closer I got to the city, the sky dimmed slowly. One minute I was staring at darkening green woods, the next—after a tunnel—I stepped into a whole new world. Streetlights flickered on one by one, neon from business districts lit up the night. When I finally parked at Chunxi Road, I looked up to glittering city lights, and the smell of hot pot drifted over. Thinking back to that golden mountain twilight? This drive was so healing!
