In Daniel 8, the prophet receives a vision symbolizing future world empires. A ram with two horns represents the Medo-Persian Empire under Cyrus. A goat with one large horn symbolizes Greece under Alexander the Great, whose swift conquests and early death led to his empire being divided among four generals. From one division arises Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who persecutes Israel and desecrates the temple—foreshadowing the future Antichrist. Gabriel interprets the vision, affirming it relates to the end times. Pastor Craig emphasizes that history follows God’s sovereign plan—“His Story”—highlighting the accuracy of prophecy and God's control over rulers. Believers are called to stay faithful and active, awaiting Christ’s return. The sermon contrasts Jesus with Alexander, showing that while Alexander ruled by power, Jesus rules by sacrifice, love, and eternal kingship. Believers are urged to live expectantly and purposefully in anticipation of God’s ultimate kingdom.
