I am not a professional bookbinder and this is an experiment using beads on a single page coptic stitch binding. Hope you enjoy! If you have any tips or tricks that make the process easier or other ideas please let me know in the comments! Would love to see what you come up with!
Never sewn single page Coptic binding before? Check out this video on how to prepare the covers and pages:

Covers used for this demo are just the backing of a paper pad that have been painted with acrylic paint. Paper used for this demo is scrap cardstock leftover from other projects. Beads are 3mm size.
Each thread is an independent sewing that enables you to use multiple colors if you like.
Suggested supplies:
2 book covers of your choice
Thick paper for book pages (Cardstock is used in this demo, but any thick paper, including cardboard, watercolor paper, bristol board, and poster board works!)
thread strong enough for bookbinding (I am using waxed polyester bookbinding thread)
beads - 3mm glass beads are used for this demo, but any bead that will not be too small for the thread or too large that it keeps the book from opening will most likely work
beeswax
awl or something to poke holes with
curved needles (1 per hole/thread)
ruler
pencil
scissors
PATIENCE :)
*When tying off leave a bit of excess thread. Do not cut the thread off right at the knot. Will help the knot stay put.
