The United States warned Iran on Thursday that all options are on the table to stop what it described as a brutal crackdown on nationwide anti-government protests. Tehran fired back at US pressure, warning of a decisive response to any attack.
Addressing an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, US Ambassador Mike Waltz said President Donald Trump had made clear that the United States would not stand by as violence escalates in Iran.
“The people of Iran are demanding their freedom like never before in the Islamic Republic’s brutal history,” Waltz told the council. “President Donald J. Trump and the United States of America stand by the brave people of Iran.”
