I'm so incredibly happy with this video. For 5 reasons to be exact.
1) Every outcome is clearly presented, for students to visually feast on. Teachers, we MUSTMUSTMUST do this. We need to teach the students systems for thinking of all possible outcomes, and then articulating them. Isn't that a life skill too? (collar-appended lavalier mic drop!)
2) The timing of when to reveal exactly what is HIGHLY intentional. You can see plainly: a little at first, then some more, then when you understand, the rest of it.
3) The technology is SO simple, while SO effective. It's really just colors and letters at its core, but all together, it's a collision of teaching craft... and art.
4) I'm pleased with my delivery. I'm not over the top enthused, because I want the screen to be the star in this moment. You can tell though that the math teacher in me is LOVING it.
5) Hitting the collaborative zone is such a rush. Sometimes so much so, that you don't really grasp its magnitude until you step out of that space. Special props to Adrienne Atzmiller, my resident Instructional Designer, for being the Clyde to my Bonnie, in mapping out the the arrangements and timing of reveals. Yeah I said "my" ID. Don't even think of moving her elsewhere. Unless it's for a promotion, inevitably. I'd be cool with that.
