How to Play Clair de lune-Identifying Voices and Technique for Voicing | Study Guide Series Video 4

🎹 Welcome to Part 4 of the Clair de Lune Study Guide! 🎹

In this lesson, we focus on understanding the different voices of the piece (from 2-5 voices at time) and why that is important. During the second part of the video, we will go over some specific hand technique as to execute the voicing most easily.

You can identify the voices by looking carefully at the stems and which direction they are pointing. Sometimes a voice has one note at a time, sometimes it has 3 or 4, so look carefully.

We will start on measure 1 and I will go over all of the voices through the end of the piece. Debussy was extremely detailed with the voices and hopefully understanding this will help you play the piece more beautifully.
