Chief Principal at MP Shah Chania Boys High School in Thika has congratulated his students for exemplary performance in the 2024 KCSE examinations
While speaking to 3T TV, Mr. James Gitau said that out of the 337 candidates who sat for the exams, 212 of them attained the requisite marks to join the university, this representing a 64% transition rate to university.
The school registered a Mean Grade of 7.337.
He said that the performance was a great improvement from the candidates whom he noted that none of them had been admitted to Form 1 with 400 marks in KCPE.
Mr. Gitau added that the teachers strike in December last year partially affected the students’ performance as it disrupted learning at a very crucial moment of their life.
He also noted that the inability by some of the candidates to pay school fees in time was another major challenge that needed elaborate efforts by all stakeholders to find a permanent solution.
