Back in 1997 John Howard was prime minister, the Adelaide Crows won the AFL for the first time and the Holden Commodore was Australia’s top-selling car.

And in August 1997, the first generation Subaru Forester made its local debut. Nearly 28 years and more than 300,000 sales later the sixth generation Forester is appearing for the first time locally at the reborn Melbourne motor show.
