Papallacta is located about 1 to 1.5 hours east of Quito and is best known for its hot springs with warm, mineral-rich water. However, there are also beautiful hiking options in the area — from a short walk of about an hour near the hot springs to longer trails in the higher-altitude Cayambe-Coca National Park, where you’ll find scenic routes passing by several lakes.
