I get the feeling the 14k Head of the Dart race in the UK is one of those that gets under your skin! And definitely one to do if you get the chance.
Run annually in alternate directions, this year from Totnes with Dartmouth Amateur Rowing Club hosting the event for 8's, 4's, quads, pairs, singles, fine boats, coastal boats, gigs kayaks and touring boats and all ages for the 14k on the ebb run from Totnes to Dartmouth.
I'm pretty sure also, no two years are ever the same. So I'm fortunate as a novice (my 2nd year) that this was as good as it gets (if you like it flat and fast)... At least 2 course records were broken ... Relatively mild, decent following stream and wind behind!
