CHP Officer in Stealth Dodge Durango Chases Tahoe at 100 MPH in Merced County

On October 10, 2025, a California Highway Patrol officer parked on Highway 152 near Carlucci Road in Merced County was monitoring traffic from a specially marked stealth Dodge Durango when a red Chevrolet Tahoe flew past him at 100 MPH.
The officer quickly caught up to the Tahoe to initiate a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop starting a pursuit, The driver sped recklessly through multiple stop signs and into the city limits of Dos Palos, eventually stopping at Dos Palos High School, where the driver was taken into custody without further incident. The officers dashcam and bodycam captured the entire chase in real time. This video shows the full pursuit footage from the moment the officer activated his cameras.
The driver was identified as Lucia C. Mondragon she was arrested and initially transported to be booked into the Merced County Correctional Center on the following charge: 2800.2(A - Evasion - Wanton Disregard for Safety but the On-site medical staff at the Correctional Center refused to accept her. California Highway Patrolman Alvarez transported Mondragon to the Los Banos Area CHP Office where she was released to her husband.
