Spun Cotton Santa – A Gentle Holiday Creation from My Studio

This is the story of one small Santa, made entirely by hand with cotton, glue, old-fashioned patience, and a bit of holiday magic.

I wanted to create something joyful — something that feels like home, warm mittens, old fairy tales and the sound of paper rustling in December.

This is not a tutorial in the usual sense — I won’t be teaching, just quietly sharing my process, as if you're sitting beside me at the worktable. You’ll see how a tiny cotton figure takes shape — from armature to painting — and maybe you’ll feel inspired to start your own holiday tradition.

These spun cotton ornaments are part of my winter collection. Each one is a little companion.

Handmade with care, painted with acrylics, sealed for longevity.

Materials used:
I work with pure cotton wool, PVA glue diluted halfway with water, and wallpaper paste (also thinned with water).
The frame is made from wire, wrapped in white thread.
Each figure is then shaped, dried, and painted by hand with acrylic paints.
