In 2011 BBC Radio Wiltshire asked me, as a Lyneham man, to produce an hour-long documentary about the village of my birth. It was to coincide with the RAF leaving there after around 70 years. LYNEHAM BORN AND BRED was the result, and focussed on the people of the village and their memories, rather than the RAF itself which, that year, transferred to Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. Almost eleven years later that documentary is now available, with a video slideshow, to hear again. It includes interviews with those no longer with us. I’d like to thank all of those who have helped in the production of this video and I hope you will enjoy this revealing trip down memory lane. If you enjoy, please subscribe (it’s free) and click on the ‘bell’ for channel updates.
DEDICATION: I would also like to dedicate this video to the memory of CHUCK TAYLOR who I grew up with at St. Michael's Close in the village. He appears on this, but sadly passed away in May 2018. I have only been informed about this since the video was released and would like to send thoughts to his widow Babs, who is also featured on LYNEHAM BORN AND BRED.
