Oil Pathways and Flows in VW Dual Pressure Relief Case

A comment left on my "plungers" video led me to scrutinize a so-called "Dual Pressure Relief" VW engine case, to understand the paths that the oil takes and the role of the two spring-loaded plungers. Turns out only the flywheel end plunger can regulate or relieve pressure, the oil pump end plunger only regulates how much oil goes to the oil cooler, ALL or SOME. These engines are 40+ years old now, but all-new to the uninitiated.

Next I want to find and study a "Single Pressure Relief" case, which came before the "Dual Pressure Relief".
