Hello friends and family!
Happy (early) Easter!
Today we’re diving into something beautifully seasonal and incredibly special: Pająki (pronounced pah-YON-kee). These ABSOLUTELY stunning, handcrafted chandeliers were once a beloved part of Easter and Christmas celebrations in Poland — and I’m bringing that magic back, one paper flower at a time.
This project was inspired by the incredible Karolina Merska and her book Making Mobiles — a treasure trove of folk art, colour, and joy.
You can check out her work and socials here: https://www.karolinamerska.com
(Highly recommend it. Not sponsored, just in love.)
In this video, I make my own pająk from scratch using tissue paper, felt scraps, and a few regrets about starting a fiddly craft right before the holidays. It’s a little chaotic, but also… kind of beautiful?
