This is a Christ Genius car wash, installed early October 2013, having replaced a 14 year old Christ Auto-Jet. Whether the previous machine had succumbed to age or the owners desired a new system is unknown. Looking at it, it appears to be a used system possibly from a Total or Texaco based on the colour scheme. Estimates put this machine at around 4 years old but it was sourced direct from Christ themselves rather than Wilcomatic who are the UK distributor of Christ systems.
I actually squee'd in delight when I saw this pulling into the forecourt; I had wondered when the system would be replaced as a result of the age, and seeing quite a high spec'd machine made me smile.
The machine boasts brushes made of Sensotex+, high pressure wheel and sill wash, foam soap and foam wax, tilting dryer and an LED direction board to name a few.
The undercarriage wash is the same as was found on the previous system when I visited it in 2010, however it isn't the original system from that wash (it was originally the twin rotating nozzles mounted on a pulley guided trolley).
The wash was quite pleasant to use and the chemicals were fragranced with a berry/fruity scent. It wasn't overpowering yet also quite nice on the nostrils.
Wash rating: Overall quite good. It's certainly a wash I shall visit again in future however the top wash was a staggering £6.95, whereas the entry level wash was £3.95. I guess this is down to the lack of competition in the area, being the only wash in town means you can have a monopoly in that respect. Probably not worth all 7 queen golds, maybe 5 and a half. Some of the long-baked in splattered insects didn't fully come off and I feel a high pressure roof wash would have solved this, but the car definitely came out much cleaner than it went in. This might be down to the car not being washed since... June/July? Yeah...
