[WR] Mario Kart Wii 100% (Unlock Everything) Speedrun in

This speedrun aims to unlock all characters & all vehicles as fast as possible. This requires completing all cups in 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and mirror mode with a rank of at least 1 star, as well as unlocking every fast staff ghost for all 32 tracks in time trials. All glitches and ultra shortcuts are allowed in this category.

Notes: This is my very first run of this category, and I luckily was able to clutch the world record by less than a minute in this 7 hour speedrun! The run itself was an absolute rollercoaster of events (and emotions, volume warning), there were countless epic moments and many very tragic ones as well. It was a really fun experience despite the difficulty, with driving well and pulling off several glitches and shortcuts in various scenarios all while dealing with unpredictable items for over 7 hours! I may run this again in the future and attempt to get under 7 hours, which should be possible with better driving (particularly during the 50cc and mirror mode segments) and more consistent ultra shortcuts. Overall I'm very happy with how this run went, and I hope anyone watching this can enjoy it as well!

This run allows skips, which means any ultra shortcuts can be used to complete the tracks as fast as possible without restriction. This includes the glitches on Grumble Volcano, Coconut Mall, Mushroom Gorge, etc.

The route used prioritizes unlocking Funky Kong as fast as possible, which is done by unlocking 4 expert staff ghosts in time trials. Hard glitches are done early in the run to get them out of the way, which includes ultra shortcuts on Coconut Mall, Wario's Gold Mine, and Mushroom Gorge. These are all attempted in time trials, 150cc, and 100cc and collectively save several minutes when performed successfully. After this, the rest of the run can be played in relatively any order based on what's available. This route in particular breaks up some of the 50cc and 100cc cups to prevent fatigue, and does most of the 150cc and mirror mode cups later on.

Another note is that Rosalina can actually be unlocked by simply having a Super Mario Galaxy save on the same console and completing 50 races. The standard way to unlock Rosalina requires getting a 1 star rank or better on all mirror mode cups, meaning that with a Galaxy save, getting 1 star ranks in mirror mode is no longer required.
