The next installment of my trip to the Great Electric Trainshow of 2024, on Saturday 12th October at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.
We are going down another scale in this film of Millsbridge, the N gauge / 2mm scale layout, presented by Huddersfield Railway Modellers.
The layout takes its inspiration from Milnsbridge, which is 2 miles West of Huddersfield on the Trans Pennine rout between Yorkshire and Lancashire. Set in the 1960's during the transition from Steam to Diesel traction, this layout is full of gritty, industrial atmosphere - so befitting of the real location. Back in the 60's this was a busy, 4 track mainline between Leeds and Manchester. Unfortunately, its now been reduced to a 2 track route, with barely any freight traffic, compared to days gone by. Sorry, back to the layout!
The layout uses some compression to fit in a reasonable space, but even so, it is an impressive sight. Even better, is that many of the buildings are scratchbuilt replicas of buildings from the area.
