Gloucester City Mission Carol Choir Concert and then Reclaim the Night | On-the-Ground Coverage.

In this video I briefly cover two events that took place in Gloucester on Friday 28th November 2025.

I started the evening outside Gloucester Cathedral, where Gloucester City Mission were hosting a Christmas carol choir concert. I captured the atmosphere as the crowds gathered and spoke to the Senior Leader and Pastor of Kingfisher Church in Tredworth, who is also one of the senior members of Gloucester City Mission.

Shortly after, I caught up with the Reclaim the Night march as they arrived at the Cathedral. I originally hadn’t planned to attend or film due to a recent bereavement, but instead of staying home and stewing in my head, I chose to get out and cover the event.

This is not full march coverage — I joined part-way through — but what I did witness was powerful.
The march called for safety in the streets and environments of Gloucester for women and children, both day and night. Around 150 people attended with signs, chants, drums and solidarity. Speeches were made by five individuals who shared lived experiences of domestic abuse, making a strong stand for change.

There was a misunderstanding with one organisation during filming, which has since been fully resolved.

Thank you to everyone who attended, spoke, volunteered and marched in support of survivors.
Support should include all survivors of abuse — women, men and LGBTQ+ people.
