These are beautiful guitars.... but can they play? Manufactured in the 70s Univox guitars were touted by many professional bands including Tommy Bolin. The skunk stripe neck and body appear to be maple with the CBS type headstock. 3 way switch.
Nice feel and interesting sound with the angled pickup.
They have ".... hi-output pickups that produce their own, unique sound. The humbuckers sound more like the P90s in a Jag than a Strat or Tele. Some positions sound single coil-ish, others are fatter with more growl. I'd certainly take this over ANY Strat, it's way more versatile."
I wanted to see if I could pull off classic stratocaster sounds with this guitar. Let me know what you think.
The small lunchbox amp is a THR10 by Yamaha which has some amazing sounds. The pedals are as follows:
Vox Wah, Tech 21 Oxford, MXR Univibe, El Musico Loco Blisterlilly, Visual Sound Angry Fuzz, EHX Electric Mistress, Exotic USA SL Drive.
