Chuck Ames is the founder of True Ames circa 1979, and is an absolute master fin maker. Chuck's foils are among the best in the business, with thousands of hours spent on the grinder and sanding tools.
When Devon Howard asked us to make a fin for the latest Channel Islands longboard, the CI Noserider, Chuck went to work. With the support of Wayne Rich and feedback from Troy Mothershead and Devon, the CI Noserider fin was born.
Chuck walks through building curves for the template, foil specifics, and the end goal of perfectly pairing the fin to the shaper's vision.
