Bernice Wise is a long-time resident of Cloyne, Ontario. In this conversation with Ken Hook she describes life at the homestead Head Farm on the outskirts of Cloyne. As a youngster Bernice walked to school with her siblings 2.5 miles each way, rain or shine. The Marble Lake School was her first school - 35 children in one room with one teacher, Grades 1-8. These were some of the best times of her childhood. Later, children were bused or went by car to the Flinton Continuation School and later to Tweed for further education.
