【溝ノ口洞穴】
曽於市財部町にある溝ノ口洞穴は、高さ奥行きの空洞で、その中に立てば昼間でも暗闇を体験することができます。耳をすませば、水の流れる音や、外で飛び交う鳥の声、こうもりがざわめく音などの音風景が広がります。
この洞窟は、約３万年前の姶良カルデラの巨大噴火の噴出物でできており、その軟弱な部分が地下水による浸食でけずられてできたものです。毎年４月、地域住民による奴踊り（やっこおどり）と呼ばれる伝統行事がここで行われます。この場所は、地質学的にも民俗学的にも重要な場所なのです。

【Mizonokuchi Cave】
The Mizonokuchi Cave, located in Takarabe Town, Soo City, is a large natural hole with ~6 meters height in maximum and ~209 meters depth, and if you stand inside it, you can experience the darkness even in the daytime. When you listen carefully, you can enjoy the soundscapes including water flowing, birds flying outside, and the noise of bats.
This cave is composed of the products of the Aira super eruption ~29,000 cal. years ago, and its unconsoidated part was eroded by groundwater. Every April, a traditional dance event called “Yakko Odori” by local residents is held here. This place is geologically and folklore important.
