Railfanning the NS Greenville district and CSX Abbeville sub on 12/30/2025! A good finale of 2025!

The 1st train was Amtrak 19 with a special engine trailing. It was a surprise on a passenger train. I did unfortunately miss NS 28R by a bit but what I caught later on made it up.

Later on I decided to go to Lilburn and there was a surprise CSX M582 that came by with a Mac leading. The reason why I was surprised was because this train was reported at hull siding at 12:35 and since it’s been many hours since the last report I would think that this train would atleast be in Atlanta by now but nope. This train also only had 49 freight cars which is a shorter version of CSX M582. This train also took Emory.

Then I caught CSX M583 with 3 engines and 2 up front and 1 at the back. This train had 6 engines at 1st but then it worked Howell yard and now only had 3/6 engines and was shorter after it worked Howell yard. This train had a friendly crew and was stopped at NE Tucker to meet CSX M582. This train had 98 freight cars meaning it’s twice as long as CSX M582 and a typical sized train. This train took the park line north.

The next train was NS 243 and it had CP power trailing. I was so happy as it was a good way to end the year 2025.

The last train was also a surprise as I wasn’t expecting it. It came shortly after NS 243. I don’t know the id for the train but I do know it’s a chamblee local. It was also a fast southbound through Duluth ga. That day a great railfanning day with many surprises and my last day of railfanning in 2025!
