10 DOLLAR PART FIXED DODGE RAM REAR END NOISE. This 10 dollar part was well worth the purchase as it has fixed the rear end noise I've had in my Dodge Ram for a while now. I have been hearing a loud clunk from the rear end of my 2nd gen 24 valve when I drive down the road and hit any type of bump. The noise will get super loud depending on the size of the bump I hit. I looked at the leaf spring bushings and suspension parts trying to figure out what was making this rear end clunk sound. Everything on the Cummins suspension is basically all brand new and in good shape and it was brought to my attention to check the tailgate bushings on the 24 valve to see if that was the culprit for making this noise. Low and behold we found the issue as soon as I grabbed the tailgate and started to shake it by hand. The tailgate bushings were extremely worn out and allowing the tailgate of the Cummins to bounce up and down harshly creating this rear end noise that clunked everytime I hit a bump on the road. I got this Dodge Ram tailgate bushing kit for 10 dollars off amazon and it is a Dorman part. After installing it on the truck and taking it for a test drive the trucks rear end clunk issue seems to be gone and fixed up. I will report back on this topic and let everyone know how it is after I drive the 2nd Gen Cummins for a little while and see how it performs with this tailgate bushing kit installed.
