Join me on a solo hiking and camping adventure to Vancouver Island, BC—where I camped and hiked around Tofino, Ucluelet, and Port Alberni during the off-season (March 1–3rd, 2025). I highly recommend visiting Tofino during the off-season to avoid the crowds during the summer. Accommodations are also much cheaper during non-summer months.
This trip included:
Exploring the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet (Lighthouse Loop)
Camping in Tofino at Surf Grove Campground on Cox Bay Beach. The Cox Bay lookout hike was stunning but not an easy hike.
I also checked out Long Beach, Tonquin Beach, and the Rainforest Trail. Of course no Tofino Trip is complete without getting Tacos at Tacofino!
Port Alberni camping at a campground called Sproat Lake. It was super quiet and first come first serve. Only $13 to camp there during the winter.
