On November 12, 2025, Washington University School of Public Health in St. Louis hosted epidemiologist and scientific communicator Katelyn Jetelina, MPH, PhD, who discussed her pioneering approach to public health communication, and her experience translating complex data for audiences online through her Substack platform, “Your Local Epidemiologist.” The talk was followed by a conversation between Dr. Jetelina and WashU Public Health Dean Sandro Galea, and an audience Q&A.
The event — co-hosted by WashU School of Public Health and the Office of Public Scholarship — was held in Clark-Fox Forum, in Hillman Hall on the Danforth Campus, and also was online.
