İn Oriental Mood is an eclectic musical cycle bringing together works created across different periods, cultures, and emotional states.
Rather than a concept album in the classical sense, it is a collection of musical reflections shaped by memory, influence, and personal listening experience.
The cycle moves freely between ethnic deep house elements, Mediterranean dance rhythms, jazz harmony, and oriental melodic thinking, with Azerbaijani musical sensibility subtly present throughout.
Vocals are often treated as an additional instrument — valued for tone, rhythm, and atmosphere rather than narrative clarity — while melodies and grooves remain the central focus.
Several tracks share common structural ideas yet evolve in different directions: some are built on the same introductory motif with distinct melodies and languages (Turkish, English, Portuguese), others explore Mediterranean dance energy infused with Eastern modal colors.
Certain pieces are distant echoes of melodies heard decades ago — transformed beyond recognition, yet created with respect for their original inspiration.
A number of works are fundamental reinterpretations of existing musical material, made with the knowledge or encouragement of the original composers, while others are personal responses to films, live performances, or traditional songs remembered from childhood.
These reworkings do not aim at quotation or imitation, but at dialogue with memory and influence.
Despite the stylistic diversity, all pieces are connected by a shared approach:
an interest in groove, texture, and emotional resonance rather than strict genre boundaries.
Deep house elements appear as accents rather than rules, shaped by a broader musical identity rooted in lived experience.
The cycle In Oriental Mood is dedicated to Zoran Iliev (Billy Esteban), whose music first sparked the author’s interest in ethnic deep house and opened a path toward exploring this hybrid musical language.


In Oriental Mood — müxtəlif dövrlərdə, mədəniyyətlərdə və fərqli emosional hallarda yaranmış əsərləri bir araya gətirən eklektik musiqi silsiləsidir.
Bu, klassik mənada konsept-albom deyil, daha çox yaddaş, təsirlər və şəxsi dinləmə təcrübəsi əsasında formalaşmış musiqi düşüncələrinin toplusudur.
Silsilə etnik deep house elementləri, Aralıq dənizi rəqs ritmləri, caz harmoniyası və Şərq melodik düşüncəsi arasında sərbəst hərəkət edir; bütün bu axının içində Azərbaycan musiqi duyumu incə şəkildə hiss olunur.
Vokallar çox zaman mətn daşıyıcısı deyil, əlavə bir alət kimi istifadə olunur — əsas diqqət melodiyaya, ritmə və atmosferə yönəlir.
