How To Waterproof Basement Walls Using Rub-R-Wall

I’m gonna show you how to waterproof a foundation so the basement will be 100 percent bone dry.
The first thing the guys do is chip off the rough edges on the poured walls and then they clean up all the loose concrete.
Next, they use a torch to dry off any moisture they find on the footings.
Just like painting a car, the job is only as good as the quality of your prep work.
They apply a mastic over top of all the wall ties- this is an extra layer of precaution to make sure no water would ever leak around the ties.
This company sprays Rub-R-Wall- they start at the footing and work their way up.
Rub-R-Wall creates a seamless membrane that can actually span over small cracks.
They waterproof at least one foot above the top of the brick ledge.
They spray 3 coats on poured walls switching directions between layers.
A minimum thickness of 60 mils is required. A mil is 1/1000 of an inch, so basically 60 thousandths of an inch thick.
Finally, the guys install drain board- this helps to protect the waterproofing and gives a path for water to drain between the ground and the wall.
