In this lesson I’m going to show you two easy ways to make encased elastic waistbands. Both of these techniques are great for adding comfort and stretch to your garments — especially for things like skirts, pants, shorts loungewear, or pajamas.
We’ll start with the classic encased waistband, using 1-inch elastic.Then I’ll show you a multi-channel version that gives a more flexible, gathered look — great for summer shorts, skirts, PJs or loungewear.
