Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren | C. F. Engelbrecht (1817-1879)

Carl Friedrich #Engelbrecht (1817-1879) was a German composer and music teacher born in Kyritz in the Prignitz region of Germany. Engelbrecht studied at the Berlin Academy of Music and later became a professor of music theory at the same institution. Engelbrecht composed many works for choir and organ. His compositions were known for their harmonic richness and melodic beauty. In addition to his work as a composer, Engelbrecht was also an influential music teacher. He taught at the Berlin Academy of Music for many years and was known for his innovative teaching methods.
His Opus 4 is a collection of 10 choral preludes for organ. The collection is entitled "10 #Choralbearbeitungen, als Vor- und Nachspiele beim Gottesdienste zu gebrauchen" (10 Choral Preludes for Use as Preludes and Postludes in Church Services). One of the pieces in this collection is "Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren" (Praise to the Lord, the #Almighty).
