When I first heard this version of the Christmas and movie classic, I instantly fell in love with the arrangement—especially the killer drumming by LA session great Greg Fields. I originally recorded this in 2023 and decided to embellish the double-time samba groove just a bit.
This tune also has a special place in my heart because of Barry Manilow’s fantastic rendition. I’m dedicating this performance to my old high school friend Ron Pedley, who went on to become Barry’s keyboard player for the last 30+ years. I thought of Ron the entire time I was recording this.
I re-recorded this after adding green screens to my studio, and I’m really happy with how the new look turned out. I hope you enjoy both the cover and the updated visual style!
