Mozart's The Magic Flute was the first great German opera and is still one of the most performed operas today. Aside from its intrinsic beauty, Mozart's music in this opera stood out among other operas because of its successful integration of a variety of musical styles including German lieder, Italian aria, and Viennese folk music into a cohesive whole.
This second aria of the Queen of the Night has the dubious honor of containing the highest notes in the standard classical repertoire - four F6's (F6 means 3 F's above middle C).
Andrea Frey performs in perhaps the largest dress I've ever seen.
