On 16 July 2024, during the nationwide anti-quota student movement, Wasim Akram, a 3rd-year Sociology student at Chattogram College and a dedicated student leader, was tragically killed in Muradpur, Chattogram. At just 20 years old, his life was cut short while bravely standing with fellow students against injustice and inequality.
This documentary takes us to Wasim’s home in South Mehernama Bazar, Cox’s Bazar, where his family shares memories, grief, and pride for a young man whose courage inspired an entire generation. Through interviews with his uncle and close relatives, we relive the moments leading to his martyrdom and the unwavering spirit of a youth who believed in equality and justice.
Wasim’s story reminds us of the sacrifices made by students and young activists during Bangladesh’s July Uprising of 2024 — a movement that challenged oppression and sought a fairer, democratic future for the nation.
