The Georgetown Hoyas defeated the Marquette 80-57 in the Big East tournament semi-final. What was a one-point game (49-48) with 13 minutes left quickly turned into a rout as the Hoyas went on an 18-4 run to put the game out of reach.
The Hoyas were lead by Greg Monroe with 23 pt, 13 rb, 7 ast in one of his finest college games. Chris Wright, Austin Freeman and Jason Clark continued their strong tournament play with double digit scoring. Jimmy Butler led the Golden Eagles with 17 pts, and Maurice Acker and Lazar Hayward also scored in double digits.
