Composting with chickens, growing cover crops, adding micronutrients, deep-cultivation - today I share what I'm doing to take a poor garden bed and make it amazing. Chicken run dirt/compost is amazing stuff, so that is going in. We're also using Steve Solomon's fertilizer mix. And using the Meadow Creature broadfork to go deep and loosen compacted soil. And, of course, we are adding more charged biochar. With all these additions, this soil is going to be amazingly good for gardening. You can turn poor soil into a good garden - it just takes a little work!
