🇩🇪 45 min OBus Sound 🚎 BOB battery powered trolleybus, Depot Obus Solingen, Germany Audio ASMR

Relax with the awakening of the main depot of SoBus Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH Verkehrsbetrieb, Solingen Germany right next to Müllheizkraftwerk Solingen, Botanischer Garten and Städtisches Klinikum. On this frozen October morning of 2023, the first of around 120 trolleybusses and diesel busses go into service. Here from 4:00 a.m., the employees gradually arrive at the depot and start their work for Solingen's 200 km line network local public transport.

A total of three generations of trolleybuses are in daily use. Busy sections of the route and especially school lines are served by articulated buses. According to information from a friendly SoBus employee, the purchase costs of the first trolleybuses were three times the price of conventional diesel buses.

The latest O-Bus BOB Edition (Batteriebetriebe Oberleitungsbusse) travel a distance of around 20 km fully electrically autonomously and are then recharged via the overhead line in around 20 minutes.

"Over 24 million passengers use the services of the Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH transport company every year. Drivers cover 4.5 million kilometers in their vehicles. They head to one of 508 stops every 465 meters.

The transport company owns 120 vehicles, including 45 articulated trolleybuses as well as twelve long BOBs and eight solo BOBs – battery-operated trolleybuses. The Solingen city area is served by a further 55 buses on 24 routes.
