Living in a tent, struggling daily to be a worker, and facing a bitter reality

The story is a bitter and at the same time a human narrative of a woman named Betul; A woman who stands against betrayal, poverty and hardship of life with patience and sobriety. She lives in a simple and poor tent with her twins, one of whom is Maral—an innocent girl who symbolizes hope and continuity in the heart of darkness.

Betul used to be the wife of a man named Young Engineer; A man who initially won the heart of Betul with the promise of a better life and a bright future, but after a while he betrayed her and took a second wife. This betrayal not only broke Betul's heart, but also left him and his children in a difficult and helpless situation.

Despite all these injustices, Betul does not give up. He lives in a tent, but his spirit still lives on. One day an operator (a worker or a communication officer) comes to her tent, and Betul humbly and shyly asks him to help her if she has anything for him so that he can do labor or cleaning and earn money for his children. The operator sympathetically accepts and takes Betul to the city to clean a house.

After finishing his work, with tired hands but calm heart, Betul gets ready to return to his tent. But on his way back, he suddenly encounters a strange and shocking scene: a group of men are fighting and beating each other on the corner of the street. When Bethul looks more closely, she discovers in disbelief that the man being punched and kicked is the young engineer—her ex-husband, the father of her children, and the one to whom she once entrusted her entire life.

She hides herself in panic so that the engineer does not see her and the children. Maybe he doesn't want to look into her eyes after all that suffering, or maybe he doesn't want her to know that he is still living in poverty and tents. After some time, the fight ends and the wounded and tired engineer leaves the place.

But curiosity and conscience do not give peace. He goes forward and asks the men who beat the engineer why they did that. Their answer is more bitter than any wound:
They say that the engineer cheated them, took their money and did not return it.

At this moment, Betul finds out that the man who once betrayed him is now caught in the trap of betrayal and corruption. This fact is not a source of happiness for Betul, but a symbol of the collapse of morality and humanity in a society where no one is immune from suffering.

Without saying a word, he continues his path towards the tent and his children. Maybe there is still a bit of past love left in her heart, maybe she is still praying that the father of her children will return to the right path, but she knows that now she is the only one who has to build her life.
