This week I am making a cape-coat out of a vintage pattern. It's a "Distinctive Originator Patterns" from 1948. It's a fabulous pattern with all kinds of tricks up its sleeves. I picked up a wool blend at the fabric store and away we go. It's a more advanced pattern. I definitely had some trouble deciphering the instructions. But with determination, creativity, and experience, you can do anything. I will be ready for all the autumn chill, if it ever gets here to Southern California. I so dig this cape coat's witch-core, Halloween aesthetic. I hope it cools off soon, I'm tired of the 90 degree days!
