In the present, Tula and Sister Nazir investigate a mysterious virus connected to Desmond Hart, only for Nazir to succumb to the infection. Tula realizes the virus is a product of the Thinking Machines, and she resolves to save her son. Lila exposes Valya’s past crimes, rallying the sisters by her side. Meanwhile, political turmoil shakes the Imperium as the Emperor’s fate is decided. Valya orchestrates a daring escape for the Princess Ynez and Keiran Atreides.

In the climax, Valya confronts Desmond, who has become a bioweapon created by the Thinking Machines. During a vision, she learns that his infection stems from machine-implanted microchips. Just as she prepares to end him, Tula intervenes, revealing that Desmond is her son. Valya chooses to step into the shadows, realizing that direct control is no longer her path. As the episode closes, she arrives with Ynez and Keiran on Arrakis, where new challenges await.
