In this video I construct my compost bins for my allotment. I buy some gravel boards from the local wood merchant and ask him to cut them to size. Then I assemble the pieces into sides and backs. Once the carcass of the frame is up I fix two inside panels in place to create 3 bays for the compost to go in. I then screw in the front panels to finish off the compost heaps.
Earlier in the week before making the compost heaps I filled up another raised beds with compost from my old veg patch in my home garden. I also trimmed my allotment plot as well as clearing away a huge patch of nettles. I take some unwanted items to the recycling centre so the allotment plot is a little bit clearer.
In the home garden I harvest the first of my strawberries and then set up my autopot system in the greenhouse. I constructed one autopot system a couple of weeks ago and filled them with tomato plants bought from a garden centre. The tomatoes have shot along so I spend a bit of time tying the tomato plants in and sideshooting them. Then I plant two of my aubergine plants and two of my cucumber plants into my spare autopot pots. The autopot pots have been filled with fresh compost, perlite and some Blood, Fish and Bone. Fingers crossed they grow well.
