I just bought a brand new 2024 iGaging OriginCal IP54 caliper, MFR # 100-700-06. I was very impressed with my older one, bought a few years ago. I was not aware of "improvements" added to the new version of the iGaging OriginCal caliper. The improvements were made at the cost of serious downgrade of the battery life. This is a classic case of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
The description on vendor's website said: "Two years battery life" but there is no way for the battery to last over one year, even if the caliper is never used.
