Napoleon 3 Second Empire | Domestic and Foreign Policies | European History | Lectures by Waqas Aziz

Napoleon 3 established his second empire in France. The first empire was established by Napoleon 1. Napoleon 3 was directly elected by people and won the election with overwhelming majority. Under his presidency, he appeased workmen and suppressed Republicans. Subsequently, disputes arose between Napoleon 3 and assembly on the issues of electoral law and tenure of president. Hence, Napoleon 3 brought military coup and dissolved the assembly. He, then, drafted his own constitution. Afterwards, he did a plebiscite for his kingship. And the people of France elected him as their emperor. Napoleon 3 introduced a number of Domestic and Foreign reforms.
