I’m Mei 🌸— a girl who loves music and traveling. I’ve just started learning how to make music. I listen to songs from all kinds of genres and languages, and this is my very second Hindi album.I have no idea what traditional customs there are for Diwali in India. In my imagination, it should be similar to our New Year, perhaps a day for family reunion. With such imagination in mind, I made this album. Hope you will like it.

In my country, Indian music is almost unknown. The only glimpse we get of it is through a few Indian movies. What always fascinated me is how every Indian film seems to have beautiful songs and amazing dance sequences — it feels so fresh and full of life.

My first real encounter with Indian music was back in 2017. That year, my friend and I graduated from university and decided to travel to India together.✈️ It was my very first time setting foot in India. Neither of us could speak Hindi, and we barely understood English, so the entire trip was full of surprises and challenges. We visited New Delhi and Mumbai, explored many local restaurants and bars — and that’s where I first heard Indian pop songs. I couldn’t understand a single lyric, but it didn’t matter. The rhythm pulled us in, and we danced with everyone like we belonged there.

Eight years have passed since then, and now AI tools have made it possible for ordinary people to create things that once seemed impossible. Even someone like me, who never had formal music training, can now make music just out of pure love and passion.

I know that great songs always come with great lyrics, but I also believe that music itself is a universal language — even when we don’t understand the words. Still, I want to say sorry to my Indian friends.🙏 I don’t speak Hindi or English, so I had to rely on AI tools to build a rough idea of the lyrics. I know they might not make much sense, but I really did my best.

Even this English note was written with the help of a translator — I hope you can understand what I mean. Despite all the challenges, I wanted to push myself and try to create something that carries the beauty of Indian melodies.🎵
