This activity is on building a stamina to self dictate verbally and generate a creative piece inspired by a word from the lesson without the teacher having to hold the letter board or the keyboard.
Once the student achieves the ability of ‘speech to spell’ replacing ‘letter board to spell’ we introduce the keyboard/devise to merge the:
1) Auditory capabilities of language and speech sound.
2) visual capability to adapt to the position of the keyboard and finding the letter as dictated by one’s own voice.
3) kinesthetic skill ( or motor skills ) to make the spelling manifest as independent typing.
4) tolerance - to perform for a longer duration without the teacher’s need to hold the device or the letter board.
